Roger Lee Fort was born October 6, 1949, in Wayne County, NC to the late Naomi Becton & Robert Fort. He departed this life on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, in Fayetteville, NC.
Everyone who knew Roger loved him. He always loved to joke, laugh, and have a good time. He loved to tell stories of places he traveled and people he met. He was a jack-of-all-trades.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, listening to music, baseball and watching Westerns.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Joseph Williams, David “Frog” Fort, & Eddie B. Williams, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Fort, Pikeville, NC, his children: Coralina Sockwell-Downs (Chris) & Shakera Dunn of Fayetteville, NC. Six grandchildren (TreSean, Tamiya, Caleb, Christien, & Elijah). His brothers, Carson “Cookie” Sutton (Beverly), Pikeville, NC & William “Temp” Sutton (Lillian) of Oxon Hill, Maryland; an Aunt, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
