Obituary for Mrs. Juanita Cox Faison

Goldsboro - The Management and Staff of Williams & Ashford Funeral Directors wish to inform all who knew her that, Mrs. Juanita Cox Faison, 98, traded her sorrows and her pain for the joy of the Lord, on March 18, 2023 at the SECU Hospice House, Smithfield, NC.

Ms. Juanita Cox Faison, affectionately known as (Neat) was born to the late James (Jim) Cox and Geneva Cox on November 2, 1924, and was called from labor to reward on March 18, 2023, at the blessed age of 98 yrs. old. She was raised and schooled in Duplin County until late adolescence. Juanita and her family migrated to Wayne County, where she attended and graduated from Dillard High School in 1944. Upon graduation, Juanita wed her childhood sweetheart Willie James Faison and relocated to New York. Juanita and Willie were married for 58 years until the time of his passing in 2006. Juanita was employed with the Social Security Administration in New York City for thirty years; upon retirement, she moved back home to Goldsboro, North Carolina. She attended Goldsboro Chapel as a faithful member for 32 years until her health prevented her from doing so. Juanita served on the usher board for many years in several capacities, including President and Vice President.

She was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart Willie James " Bill" Faison; her parents, James (Jim) Cox and Geneva Cox Kornegay; siblings: Lucille Brewington Deans, Evelyn Spencer Robinson, Leah Cox Massey, and Pastor Willie Cox.

She leaves to cherish her memories as special sister-in-law Darris Cox, a beloved cousin, Beatrice, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends whom she cherished.
